• O jakou herní akci ses pokoušel/a?
On move 39, I wanted to discard the 3 "4"s + the 2 of spade I had in hand.

• Co ses pokoušel/a udělat, abys spustil/a tuhle herní akci?
While taking damage, I wanted to discard more cards than needed for the damage (the 3 "4"s were enough).

• Co se stalo, když ses o tuto akci pokusil/a (vyskočila chybová hláška, lišta ve hře, ...)?
I got the error message "You selected too many cards".

There is no rule against discarding as many cards as you wish when taking damage. In fact it is a good strategy to discard bad cards so you can empty your hand to draw better ones.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.
The rules only say:
"The current player must discard cards from their hand with a total value at least equal to the enemy’s attack value. "
