Agreed, if there is a few dice in line for exploring, it's impossible to tell which die is going to be used next (the top one? bottom one? colour order?). If you want to stock with an alien die to get extra $, you can't tell when to use stock (the stock value is still shown as 2$ and selecting the yellow die doesn't help). I once selected a white die to scout and it spent my yellow die instead, which I wanted to use for stocking. It hinders the gameplay a lot.

Furthermore, if the yellow die is available for Explore and you have Alien Archaeology, you should be forced to choose which die is going to be used for the Explore action, just as Develop and Settle phases ask you to choose which dice are to be used if there is a possibility that some of them will remain on the tile stacks.

I have learned to always Stock first when I have a yellow die, but I would prefer to have the ability to select which die I want to use, or perhaps even better, to have the game ask which die I want to use if the colour makes a difference.

Game 194567135 - I selected a white die to scout. I could see it highlighted, but then when I pressed scout it used the yellow die, thus robbing me of the opportunity to use the yellow die when I wanted to. When producing goods or shipping goods, it uses the selected die, but not when scouting. This is wrong.

This report is over four years old, so I'm just commenting to keep BGA from automatically closing the report, which it has a habit of doing instead of actually fixing issues.
